How long does it take a Fat Boy to jog five kilometers? We’ll find out on Saturday, July 3rd, when Needs Inc. presents the Firecracker 5K/10K Run and Walk at the Cheyenne Depot.

The fifth-annual event is a fundraiser for the Needs Inc. food pantry. Founded in 1972, the non-profit organization now distributes over 400,000 pounds of food to nearly 15,000 Laramie County residents each year. Along with food, Needs Inc. has also provided clothing and other resources for over 25,000 people in and around Cheyenne.

This year, Fat Boys Tire & Auto has been invited to host the “Tire Toss” in the Depot Plaza following the race. Runners and walkers of all ages will have three chances to throw a football at a swinging tire from ten feet away and each successful throw will win a prize from Fat Boys and our partners, Bridgestone and Yokohama.

If you would like to run to fight hunger in Laramie County, there is still time to be a hunger hero. The Firecracker 5K/10K Run and Walk kicks off at 8 a.m. on July 3rd and online registration is underway at www.NeedsInc.org. Registration for the 5K race is $35 per person, and $45 for the 10K race. For every $10 raised, Needs Inc. can feed a family for one month.
